My Aviate app: FAQs for Aviate participants
June 8, 2023
Note: The following frequently asked questions (FAQs) are meant for current Aviate participants. Those who are not currently Aviate participants can check out the My Aviate page to see how this app is a game-changer for program participants and learn more about the Aviate program.
My Aviate, the industry-first mobile app designed for Aviate participants, will help you track your progress on your way to United. As you navigate My Aviate, please see the FAQs below for additional details and helpful information.
If you are a current Aviate participant, you can download the My Aviate app via the Apple or Google Play stores. Your login credentials were sent to you via email with the subject line ‘Welcome to My Aviate!’. Note that credentials were sent to the email address we have on file from when you filled out your Aviate profile. Those who are not current Aviate participants will not be able to access the My Aviate app.
If you don’t have a smartphone, you can also access My Aviate on a desktop at myaviate.united.com using the credentials that were sent to you via email with the subject line ‘Welcome to My Aviate.’ Note that credentials were sent to the email address we have on file from when you filled out your Aviate profile.
Yes, all current Aviate participants are required to use My Aviate to remain in the program.
You will be required to log your flight hours by the 15th of each month (i.e., log May flight hours by June 15th). If any other information in your profile changes, enter it within 30 days (i.e., current address, current employer, etc.).
You should have received an email with the subject line ‘Welcome to My Aviate’ with a username and instructions on how to set a password. Ensure you are typing in your username exactly as it appears in the email and note that the platform is case sensitive. Avoid adding additional spaces or characters.
Please fill out this support form if you have additional issues logging in.
Logging Flight Hours
Yes, however, you only need to enter flight hours associated with an Aviate partner and total time to date. Please round your hours to the nearest whole number.
When you first gain access to My Aviate, you are required to enter all flight time that you’ve flown with an Aviate partner, regardless of how it was logged (i.e., dual given). Any time flown more than a year ago can be logged in one entry for the entire calendar year (i.e., all time flown at UND in 2021 is grouped together in one entry). Moving forward, you are required to enter partner flight time monthly in My Aviate.
Once you have logged into the app, scroll down until you see the ‘Log flight hours/credits’ button. Upon clicking that button, you will be taken to the flight hours log screen, where you can input hours.
Do not combine all partner time into a single month entry. You need to create a separate entry for every month you’ve flown with an Aviate partner. For time flown in 2021 or earlier, you will enter a yearly partner total.
See other scenarios below:
Scenario 1 – All of your time flown for a month was with an Aviate partner.
- Submit one (1) monthly hour entry with a current Aviate partner (including Air Wisconsin, though no longer current).
Scenario 2 – You flew with an Aviate partner & also had non-partner flight time for a month (i.e., rented a plane from a local flying club outside of school/work, time building in a friend’s plane, etc.).
- Submit one (1) monthly entry with your Aviate partner.
- Submit one (1) monthly entry under ‘other,’ including all time not associated with a partner.
Upon entering your monthly partner flight hours, you will see a field that says, ‘Total flight time to date,’ which is your logbook total. Be sure to fill this out before clicking ‘submit.’ Note that you can enter your total flight time to date at any point and do not need to wait until you submit your monthly partner flight hours.
Yes, you will need to enter your total time to date monthly.
UAX participants eligible to transition under the legacy program requirements (see Chapter 5, Section C of the APG) have two flight time progress bars. The progress bar under ‘Option 1’ will show all time flown at the UAX carrier. The progress bar under 'Option 2' will only update with time flown as a Captain beginning March 2023 and onward. All other participants will have one progress bar showing all time flown as a Captain with an Aviate partner.
Please log one entry for Captain hours and a separate entry for First Officer hours.
If you did not fly any hours in the given month(s), you should submit one entry with 0 flight time under your current Aviate partner (i.e., UND – 0 hours). If you are not currently affiliated with an Aviate partner, please submit one entry with 0 flight time under ‘other.’
For participants who are eligible to flow under the legacy program (‘option 1’ in your Flight Plan), the ‘Service time with partner’ requirement is based on your FO/CA position state date, not your company start date. Please ensure you have all positions notated in your profile to have your service time reflected correctly.
The information you've entered in My Aviate is used to display your flight plan. Failure to update your information may result in incorrect requirements being shown.
Please select 'Other' in the ‘Partner’ dropdown and enter your total time flown for that month.
Navigate to the 'Profile' tab at the top of the homepage, where you can update any certificates and ratings in the associated section.
You will see program announcements, transition updates and alerts when your documents are expiring (i.e., passport, medical).
While iOS users were asked to allow push alerts when initially logging in to My Aviate, please note at this time, My Aviate does not have this functionality. Be sure to check back regularly for notifications when you log your flight hours or update information.
