Erika’s dreams of becoming a pilot began at a young age. She grew up in Ecuador and can recall watching United aircraft land in Quito and knowing that she wanted to make that landing one day.

She went on to attend flight school in Ecuador, where she achieved most of her ratings, before becoming a flight instructor in Miami.

Erika then flew for Mesa Airlines, an Aviate United Express partner, where she applied to and joined Aviate with the goal of flying for United still in her mind.

“From speaking with colleagues and recruiters, I learned Aviate was the pathway to finally making my lifelong dream come true,” Erika shared.
