United B737 First Officer Rory O. made the pivot to a career as a pilot after starting his career in the corporate world. His father, a B777 United Captain, inspired him to pursue a job he loved, and he found it in aviation.

Rory entered the Aviate program through the United Family entry point, one of the pathways to the program. He earned his ratings at ATP, one of Aviate’s participating flight schools, and later flew with GoJet Airlines, of Aviate’s participating United Express carriers before transitioning to United upon completing the program requirements.

“Without a doubt, taking that leap was the best (and scariest) decision I had ever made in my life, but I have never looked back. I am so honored to be a part of the United family,” Rory shared.
