Aviate expands partnerships with HBCUs
April 14, 2021
We’ve been on a mission to inspire and develop the next generation of diverse and talented United pilots, and we recognize our promise is only as strong as the connections we keep. Through our vast partnerships, now including three new Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), we’re one step closer to reaching our goal.
We’re delighted to welcome new partners to Aviate, including our first HBCU, Delaware State University, followed by Hampton University and Elizabeth City State University. These esteemed colleges and universities will help us meet our commitment to breaking down barriers for women or people of color, and we’re incredibly proud to be the first pilot career development program to partner with HBCUs.
Through our partnerships with these HBCUs and goal to diversify the pilot population through United Aviate Academy, we will help ensure the next generation of pilots better reflect the communities and customers we serve.
Full details regarding Aviate eligibility and transition requirements can be found in the Aviate Program Guide (APG). For questions not covered in the APG, please provide your information and question in the space provided, and we’ll get back to you soon.
