Aviate wrapped: 2023 events & partnerships in review

This year, the Aviate team was kicking it into high gear and on the road every month. We met many prospective and current Aviate participants – as well as alumnus – and we celebrated new partnerships around the country.

2023 Aviate events & partnerships by the numbers:

  • Held 6 participant events in 5 different US cities
  • Launched and celebrated 8 Aviate partners
  • Attended 5 industry conferences

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and appreciate all that has been accomplished this year...

Aviate participant events:

This year, we held in-person Aviate participant events around the country, filled with opportunities for Aviate participants to meet, network and learn from our Aviate and United team members at various United hub cities.

Inaugural in-person Aviate orientation:

  • August – Denver
  • December – Denver

Participant events:

  • March – Houston
  • June – Dulles
  • July – Los Angeles
  • August – Denver
  • October – Chicago & Houston

Partner celebration events:

In 2023, we welcomed and celebrated several new Aviate partners, and we can’t wait to see their valuable impact to our program and participants.

  • May – ATP & Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver)
  • August – Tradewind Aviation
  • September – Hampton University & Middle Georgia University
  • October – California Aeronautical University & Lewis University
  • November – Delaware State University

Industry events:

This year, our Aviate and Pilot Hiring teams were busy connecting with aviation professionals and celebrating diversity across the industry at major conferences. There, United’s Aviate and Pilot Hiring teams connected with both current and aspiring pilots, hosted forums, held meet and greets and more. In case you missed it, here’s where we were:

  • February – National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) & Women in Aviation International (WAI)
  • May – Professional Asian Pilot Association Expo (PAPA)
  • July – EAA AirVenture
  • August – Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals (OBAP)
  • September – Latino Pilot Association (LPA)
